Sketch Mania #8

DeeDee over at umWow Studios does the most fabulous sketches, I'm so jealous of her talent! Here's my creation for her latest:The details:
Products Used: Printed papers-Cosmo Cricket; Stamp sets-CTMH Playful Flourishes & A Filtter; ink-CTMH Black & cardstock-CTMH Creme Brulee & White.

For the large flower I simply used my Cricut/Gypsy & cut out 5 flowers with the smallest being 3" & the largest 4", distressed with my husband's Dremel tool, stack & drive a decorative brad thru the middle! Tada, beautiful flower in just a few minutes!

The ribbon says "Take time to sit and watch the leaves turn" from CTMH. The girl on the bike is a stamp I got from Scarlet Lime. Printed papers are from American crafts.

PPC-CC#27

What a beautiful color combo this week from Picture Perfect Creations. Reminds me of the spring while every things is bright green and the flowers are blooming.
My Creation:
The Details:
Products Used: all cardstock & ink-CTMH; two lower brads-Sassafras; flower brad-Bo Bunny; leaf stamp set-CTMH Serendipity; Creative Memories circle cutting system; Cricut; Gypsy; Indie Art Cricut Cartridge; Gemstones-Paper Studios.

To make these beautiful flowers, this makes ONE flower: cut 4 circles each 1/4" larger than the next; stamp a pattern or emboss as desired; distress all edges; fold each circle in half then accordian fold, unfold; stack with largest flower on bottom and smallest top (as shown), punch a hold thru middle & fasten with a brad or you can use a button but you will need to ahear each flower layer to the next... for a twist try three small brads instead of one large.

This is a part of the No Paper Buying Challenge I'm participating in. For more information, please see my Aug. 1 blog post.

My Mom's Birthday

is today! This afternoon she came out & we played with paper almost the whole time she was here (ok, she folded all of our socks first while I was making banana bread, isn't she the greatest ever?!) What to get my mom, hummm.... how about cards? I had her choose the paper & sayings, basically we played like little girls with big girl toys! We started out pretty basic & just went deeper & deeper....

We didn't keep up with the products we used, but if you really really want to know one or two I could probably find them... just let me know.

These FIVE are for the No Paper Buying Challenge I've crazily joined. If you'd like more info, please check out my Aug. 1 blog post!

Scrappy Day

As you can tell, I'm still on my Staycation! My boys have been wonderful for me, today my oldest slept until 10... I had to wake him up!

Here's my oldest at the BMX track after playing around with brother & dad. I didn't care for any of the BMX pictures (you've seen one practice sessions, you've seen a few hundred) But this one of him really stood out to me. Back of girls, that's my baby and he's only 12
My younger son is a real "man's man" if there are tool involved, he's there! He wanted to build his own trailer, so he & dad worked out what needed to be done & while dad was working on other stuff (probably stuff for me), our little guy went to town on his trailer. Dad helped put the wheels on which they found at grandpa's house.
Let's not forget my main squeeze! Ron's boss likes to close the office now & again for the guys to golf, hunt, or fish. When I showed Ron this page I made for him, I asked if I'd forgotten to write anything. The handwriting that you can't read says "1st Catch & Biggest Catch of the Day"... men!
I love when the boys bring home their art from school. Granted some of it is just trash (those are usually the ones I have to dig out of the bottom of the backpack a month after they got them) but some really catch the eye. This one I love:
Oldest Son's Page Products Used: CTMH printed paper, cardstock, ink & Connections Stamp Set.

Younger Son's Page Products Used: CTMH printed paper & cardstock; Thickers; and a very old die cut (wagon).

Husband's Page Products Used: CTMH printed paper, cardstock, ink & World's Best Dad Stamp Set.

School Page Products Used: no clue on that paper; Creative Memories journaling block & pen.

These are all a part of the 100 No Buying Challenge I've joined. If you'd like more information, please visit my Aug. 1 blog post. HAPPY SCRAPPING!!

Birthdays Birthdays Birthdays

This morning I asked my mom if she needed me to make anything (paper wise) for her. She requested 3 birthday cards for various nieces that have either just had or are getting ready to have birthdays.
My first banner card. Obviously I have a spacing problem which I thought I'd pre-planned to avoid but apparently you should use repositionable glue dots when doing this. I don't think Brooklyn will have a problem with it. Mom mentioned turquoise & orange. This is her 11th birday card from my mom:
My step-sister, Rita, has a step-daughter that just turned 15. Mom said she likes blue & purple, so here's Ashley's card:
And last but not least is Rita's baby girl, ok so she's not really a baby any more. Mom said pink & girly. I hope Laura likes this one:
I had a lot of fun with these girls all being so very different.

Brooklyn's banner card is made from the Making Memories Whimsy Paper kit along with some Creative Memories alpha stickers and sequin flowers from Portafolia and Crystal Stickles.

Ashley's Cake card is made from Basic Grey Euphoria 6x6 paper pad; White cardstock from CTMH; Piece of Cake stamp set & all ink-CTMH; Crystal Stickles.

Laura's Flower Card is made from CTMH cardstocks, ribbon, ink, rhinestone flowers, green brads & Tickled Pink Paper; felt pink brad & bee brad from Sassafras; Crystal Stickles.

All three of these are a part of the No Paper Buying Challenge. For more details on the challenge, please see my blog post from Aug. 1
